Ontic Portal — Terms of Service
Last updated: September 2026
1. What Ontic Portal is
Ontic Portal ("Ontic," "we," "us") is a hosted website-builder platform. You sign up for an account, describe your business, and our AI generates a complete website for you. You can publish it, buy a custom web address through us, take online bookings, receive contact-form messages, and manage everything from your dashboard.
2. Your account
You must provide an email and password to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their permission.
3. Free trial and paid subscription
New accounts include a 7-day free trial of our full service. If you cancel before the end of the trial, you will not be charged. If you do not cancel, your card is charged $60/month at the end of the trial, and every month thereafter until cancellation. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
4. What we do on cancellation
When you cancel your subscription (or your subscription lapses due to non-payment), the following happens automatically at the end of your paid period:
- Your published websites go offline. Every website you have published through Ontic is unpublished and no longer accessible via its Ontic address or any custom web address you have connected to it.
- Custom web addresses stop routing. Any custom web addresses (like yourbusiness.com) that pointed to your Ontic sites will show a "Site inactive" placeholder to anyone who visits.
- Upcoming appointments are canceled. Any confirmed bookings on your sites for dates in the future are marked canceled. Each customer who booked one is automatically emailed a cancellation notice on your behalf.
- Web address subscriptions are canceled. Any custom web addresses you purchased through us on a yearly $20 subscription are canceled at the end of their paid year. You keep the address until the year runs out; it is not renewed after that.
- Your data is preserved. Projects, generated content, contact messages, and past bookings remain in our system so you can resume where you left off if you resubscribe.
By creating an account you agree that Ontic may take all of these actions automatically and without further notice.
5. Web addresses (custom domains)
When you buy a web address through Ontic, it is registered in our name at our third-party domain registrar and pointed at your Ontic site. You have exclusive use of the address as long as you keep your $20/year web-address subscription active. If your subscription lapses or is canceled, the address expires at the end of its paid year and may be re-registered by anyone. We do not guarantee availability of any specific address; if you cancel and later resubscribe after your paid year has ended, the address may no longer be available.
6. Online booking and contact forms
If you enable online booking or a contact form on your site, messages from your customers are routed to the notification email address you set in your account. You are solely responsible for how you handle information customers share with you through these tools, including complying with any laws that apply to your business. Ontic passes the message through and stores a copy in our system so you can review it in your dashboard.
7. Content you create
You own the content you provide (photos, business description, reviews, etc.) and the content our AI generates for you. You grant Ontic a limited license to host, display, and serve that content only for the purpose of running your Ontic site. You are responsible for making sure your content is legal, accurate, and does not infringe anyone else's rights.
8. What you may not do
- Use Ontic to send spam, harass anyone, or run any illegal business.
- Upload content you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or copy the Ontic platform itself.
- Abuse the free trial by creating multiple accounts to avoid paying.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice.
9. AI-generated content
Our platform uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to generate website content on your behalf. AI output can occasionally be wrong or inappropriate for your business. You are expected to review generated content before publishing and are responsible for what you choose to publish. Ontic is not liable for AI-generated content you approve and publish.
10. Payment processing
Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms. Ontic does not directly store your full card details.
11. Service availability
We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Third-party outages (Cloudflare, Stripe, Dynadot, Resend, Anthropic) may affect availability. We are not liable for damages caused by service interruptions.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ontic's total liability to you for any claim relating to your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in your dashboard or by email. Continued use of Ontic after changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
14. Termination
You can cancel your account at any time from the Account tab in your dashboard. We may terminate your account if you violate these terms or if operating your account becomes impractical for us.

Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Account info: email, password (hashed), notification email if you set one.
- Site content: the business description, photos, reviews, hours, and booking services you provide.
- Payment info: billing name and subscription status. Full card details are stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Site visitor data: contact-form submissions and bookings made on your sites are stored so you can see them.
- Usage data: basic analytics (number of generations, published sites, active domains) so we can operate the platform.
What we DO NOT do
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing. Full stop. Not now, not later. Your email will not be added to any list without your consent. Your customers' emails belong to you, not to us.
Who we share data with — only when we have to
- Cloudflare: hosts our infrastructure. Your site content passes through Cloudflare's network.
- Anthropic: processes your business description to generate your website via Claude.
- Stripe: processes payments.
- Dynadot: if you buy a custom web address, registration data goes to them.
- Resend: delivers notification emails on your behalf.
- Law enforcement: if legally compelled by a valid subpoena or court order.
Data retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required by law to keep records (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).
Your rights
You can export or delete your data at any time from the Account tab, or by emailing us. If you're in a jurisdiction with additional data-rights laws (GDPR, CCPA), those rights apply.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking, advertising, or third-party analytics cookies.
Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. If changes are material, we'll notify you before they take effect.
